2001, Beijing´s Software Industry Hit RMB24.9Billion

On March 4, news released from Beijing Software Work Conference that in the year of 2001, the total revenue of Beijing's software industry and relevant service sectors reached RMB24.9billion. To compare with that of 2000, it increases 31 percent, of which, the turnover of software product totaled RMB7.2billion, 33.3 percent up. The total revenue of software service amounts to RMB17.7billion, rising 30 percent.

So far, headed up with Microsoft, arrays of multinational software enterprises have set up the R&D institutes or plants in Beijing. Neusoft, Bright Oceans, Langchao etc also plan to establish their R&D center and manufacturing bases. The establishment of a number of joint ventures, including Ufsoft and IFS; CS&S, CA and CENTEK; Stone and Microsoft, indicates the enhancement of Beijing software industry internationalization.

In the year of 2002, Beijing software industry will expedite its two-year general scheme, which is ratified by Beijing municipal government, breaking through the bottleneck of the development, expanding the software industry scale. It¡¯s estimated that in the year of 2002, Beijing software will sustain 30%-50% development speed, the turnover will amounts to RMB33billion.
